The use of the laser allows to treat in a much more effective manner the patients and zones of the body which earlier in time were almost impossible, with better postsurgery recovery, less painful, and with fewer inflammation and bruises.
With this technology patients with skin flaccidity can be treated, zones that used to be dangerous can also be treated, such as the internal side of the thighs, the arms, the dewlap, the back, etc.
In typical zones like the cases, the abdomen and the flanks, the results that are obtained are very superior to the traditional liposuction, and as we mentioned, the post operatory is shorter and less painful.
There exists on the market several lasers that can be used for this technique of laser-lipolisis, but only two of them have the necessary length of wave and the power to obtain the desired results.
These lasers operate liquefying the fat - the cells of fat explode-, the small blood vessels that are in the way coagulate, and the most important thing, they warm the dermis from inside (the deep layer of the skin), obtaining the retraction of the skin, which produces an anti-flaccidity effect.
It is known that raisin the temperature of the dermis produces an immediate effect of shortening of the collagen fibers, which causes a stretching of the skin with a lifting effect. In addition, the micro injury that is caused in the dermis stimulates the organism to produce new collagen, so the effect of stretching continues increasing and improving in the following months.
Technically, experience is needed in the use of these lasers, since not only the result, but also the risks, depend on the power applied, on the total used energy and on the depth of the treatment.
Every type of skin and every zone of the body requires a different adjustment of the laser.
The most common procedure is to begin with a treatment of the deepest layers with very high power, to destroy the major possible quantity of cells, and after continue with a treatment of lower power in a superficial layer to obtain the ideal stretching of the skin.
This technology can be applied to any type of patient. The results are very superior as compared to the common techniques and the post operatory is the most rapid and the least troublesome.
How much does intervention consist of?
Depending on each case, the number of zones to treat and the size of the lipo-laser, the surgeryn can be done with local anesthesia or with a soft intravenous sedation.
Before entering the operating room the zones to be treated are marked and the local anesthesia is supplied trough small incisions of not more than 2-3mm.
To eliminate the fat a flexible canulita of about 2mm is used, on which the optical fiber of the laser is found. The whole zone is treated with the chosen power transmitting the total energy that the patient needs.
Once the deep zone is treated, we commence to treat the layer slightly below the dermis with a lower power.
As result, the fat transforms in a material similar to the oil, that might be re-absorbed by the organism, but that is preferable to eliminate inhaling it with a tiny cannula of about 3mm so that the post operatory is faster.
Finally the incisions are closed with one very thin stitch, and an elastic strip is put on the patient.
Is the post-operatory painful?
The first two days can turn out to be slightly uncomfortable, since it is not possible to take the strip off or have a shower. The patient can feel slight irritations, dryness of the skin, etc., but the pain is minimum or non-existing.
After these two days, the first check is done to permit the shower and the use of moisturizing creams, which the patients are very grateful for because they can resume their normal life.
The strip is necessary 24 hours a day for one or two weeks, however it is possible to remove it eventually to have a shower and wash it. We highlight that in the conventional liposuction this strip is necessary for at least one month, due to a major inflammation.
When can I see the results?
The results of a laser liposuction are seen clearly in two weeks, and continue improving with time. The final result is seen in two or three months, as the collagen is regenerated.
It is important that the surgeon who does the treatment is experienced in traditional liposuction and the use of these new lasers.
